Business Spanish

I accompanied a friend of mine on a trek to Aranjuez for a free Business Spanish course.  I had taken a Business Spanish course at KU during my undergraduate program, but that was nearly 10 years ago.  I thought this would be a good refresher course and it was!  A language company called, Habla y Entiende, provided this course, lunch and a tour (in Spanish, of course) of the Palacio Real of Aranjuez all for free!  It was a great review of how to write letters and resumes and how to conduct interviews in Spanish.

If you haven’t been to Aranjuez, I recommend it.  It is a short trip outside of Madrid and it can be done in one day.  The Palacio Real in Aranjuez is one of the Spanish royalties’ residencies.  The tour guide, organized by the program, allowed us to see a few extra rooms that normal visitors do not get to see.  Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed inside the palace so I only have a few from the outside.  But the rooms were breathtaking.  One was designed in Japanese art, another was designed to resemble the Alhambra in Granada, and another was a music room that featured a vertical piano.  I was amazed.

Stairway inside Palacio Real...that design on the ceiling is made to look like wood. And it really does look like wood!
